Confident. Relaxed. Focused.

In recent match reviews, I've realized that on all "good" stages I've had the same mindset.

This is what I say to myself during the "Make Ready", to get back into that state.

Confident

I've had enough time to do a walkthrough. I had figured out all my positions and reloads, down to feet placement. I've shot a similar stage before, and know where I need to slow down and where I can speed up.

All preparations are done. I'm ready.

Relaxed

I'm confident that I can shoot the stage well, it's time to relax and just let things happen. The relaxed state prevents little mistakes like trigger freeze, over-running the position, or bad follow-through.

It also allows us to get rid of any conscious thoughts during the stage and truly live in the moment.

Focused

There's nothing but grip, trigger, sights, and targets.

True focus.
